They are tall, statement and guarantee you a super stylish outcome. The over the knee boot is a definite trend to take on, which worn in the right way can transform all your wardrobe pieces. Every era has a shoe, the 70s had the platform boot, the 80s the pointed shoe, the 90s the biker boot; what if this is the shoe of our era? Worn by celebrities, stylists, bloggers and majorly in the streets by us, “common humans”, it is a trend that won’t go away any soon.

The truth is that there are plenty of options, from over the knee to thigh high and from leather to suede and patent; all you have to do is choose your favorite, and if you can’t choose, you can always go for more than one.. Just make sure that you opt for a black one (at least as a first pair) to match all your outfits and make your life a little bit easier!

However, the question that arises after you’ve bought the lovely pair of over the knee boots, is how to wear them. To me, there are two paths; you can either go for the “skin effect” or you can try the pants. If you go for the second one, things are easy; just make sure that the jeans are actually jeggings so as to fit in the boots! The ideal kind of pants to wear them with are leather leggings or black jeggings as they crete an “infinite” effect and actually make your legs seem longer. You can style them on top with oversized shirts or sweaters. The first path is by far my favorite :). I love wearing my over the knee boots with oversized t-shirts, hoodies or knitwear, it is super comfortable and stylish.. And for a night out, my flowy dresses paired with my over the knee boots belong to my favorite outfits. Just make sure you follow Hailey Baldwin’s example and always throw on an oversized coat as I am sure you don’t want to catch a cold.

Last but not least a less “revealing” option are the A line knee length skirts, which actually cover the boots and give the impression of the boots being tights. As seen in Olivia Plermo, this is a way to style the over the knee boots in a more boho-chic way.

So, if you only have the budget to invest in one pair of shoes this season, make sure they are black over the knee boots! Our favorites are the Alberto Gozzi suede boots, the Miista leather boots which come with a super comfortable heel and the Andia Fora leather boots which are ideal for a more casual edgy look.

Pick yours and wear them all day long, and don’t forget if this is actually the shoe of our era, then you are definitely making an investment!
