It’s hard to believe that Superga is well over 100 years old. Under the care and attention of Walter Martiny in 1911, the Superga factory began to produce shoes with vulcanized rubber soles. It was in Turin, Italy that the Classic Superga 2750 heritage style was born. After closing during the war, the Superga factory reopened with a mission to bring high-quality footwear to the people of Italy. The 2750 became established as the people’s shoe of Italy and has been an icon since the very beginning. It has inspired flatforms and mid tops, been transformed for all weathers, and has collaborated with top names to bring you fresh new designs. Taking you from the city to the beach, from the office to the bar, or from the high street to the park, the easy, comfortable Superga footwear has no boundaries.
Miista brings together opposites in deliberate juxtapose. Miista unites the nostalgia of Laura Villasenin’s rural Spanish heritage with a modernist female sentiment. Indeed, it’s a pastiche of all those childhood memories of a beautiful farm on the Atlantic coast of Galicia, as well as, the contemporary East London setting. Her experimental designs on Miista shoes put together opposite styles. The result is the unexpected that balances the unusual with fine design. Also, a key characteristic of Miista shoes, is the soft leather and the wearability which allows the Miista shoes to be some of the most comfortable shoes you’ve ever tried. Furthermore, the name “Miista” pr. /m.ï.s-ta/ is a playful bending of conventions in salute to the worldly and irreverent modern woman. Femininity isn’t just comfort, it is comfortable shoes.
Architect Vittorio Nanni founded the company in the ’80s. His passion and creativity gave birth to iconic products such as the subway and the twist rock belts. The know-how and all the elements that form Nanni’s identity have been passed on to the second generation. Giordano Nanni, son of Vittorio, is now leading the company to new horizons, applying a modern approach. He continues to strike the balance between artisanal technicality and high aesthetics, thus honoring the past, as these were two main characteristics that were always present in all “Nanni Milano” collections.
